On Windows magazine cover
I was tasked with creating a cover that spoke the language of the cloud. Since I've always been a super fan of the classic "Star-Wars", especially "Empire", Cloud City captivated my imagination. Now that working in the cloud is a thing it made sense to imagine your actual office in cloud city.
On Windows wanted a cover for their latest issue that focused on the benefits of working on the Cloud. I thought it would be worth exploring this concept literally. Since I've always been a super-fan of the classic "Star-Wars", especially "Empire..", Cloud City captivated my imagination. Now that working in the cloud is a common thing it made perfect sense to imagine your actual office in cloud city.
I loved playing with ideas of robot assisted file recovery, elevators to cloud city and helicopter packs to easily access your files and data.
During the process of making these illustrations I was directed to make sure this illustration would not match the Microsoft style too closely - for which I work on on a daily basis. I decided to include the one thing Microsoft has moved far away from: the gradient. It was a great experience to reimagine the Microsoft style with that special touch.
